Our ceilidh groups have a lot of fun! Firstly the practices give you experience in playing together in a band of like-minded musicians. You'll be given music sets to learn and arrange together to create some unique and groovy sounds which you can then perform together for events such as Ceilidh Dances and Concerts. We focus on local traditional tunes, Gaelic and Scots songs. In the past we have been lucky enough to recieve wedding bookings, play at village hall ceilidhs, charity events and even Belladrum! The group also fundraise to get over to Ceolas Summer Music Festival on Uist and we hope to make it even further afield to check out Celtic Music from around the world.

The aims of Astar bands are to bring people together through music, build confidence and develop skills in music and communication.
